| New technological equipment for open captions in Australia |
In Australia, cinemas have recently launched new technological equipment for open captions. Ten cinemas around the country now operate the system and discussions are taking place with several others interested in joining the program. The new system allows captioned recently released films to be shown close to the release date of the general films.
The benefit of this is being reflected in the figures of cinema attendance. For example the release of Charlie and the Chocolate Factory had over 2200 people around the country enjoying the captioned sessions. |
